Thanks to the cutting edge technology at the radiology and imaging department at OCA Hospital, we can provide a very accurate diagnostic image to the treating physician, which enables more accurate diagnoses and more accurate treatments. In pediatric tomographies, we place bismuth protectors to decrease radiation absorption and minimize future lesions.
This is the high technology equipment available at the radiology and imaging department:
Ultrasound
The Ultrasound iU22 by Philips with which you can do an ecography of the body. It has the most advanced Power Doppler system and it has 3D and 4D technology. Because of the addition of volume as well as the data processing, we get a true 4D image. It also has functions allowing a better quality of image and thus scans more quickly and dynamically.
On the other hand, Ultrasound iE33 is used especially for cardiology studies. It has a matrix transducer for better resolution, 4D and excellent sensitivity in the Doppler modes and color flow.
TAC Brilliance by Philips, 64 slices
With the use of this technology, it is possible to get 64 slices which emit simultaneous x-ray images anywhere in the body. Due to its high image quality and quickness of motion, it is possible to do precise studies of organs in motion, such as the heart. It allows the diagnosis of several types of cancer, like pulmonary, hepatic or pancreatic. You can also quickly identify traumatic damage to the liver, spleen, kidneys and brain, among others.
Using Angiotac, it is possible to detect early signs of coronary diseases, reducing the risk of more serious conditions such as acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction.
Intera .5 T magnetic resonance by Philips
It is used to carry out high resolution morphological studies of the nervous system, the spine and the musculo-skeletal system mainly. The speed of reconstruction of images is 255 per second, while the standard is only 120. It has spectroscopy and 3D images.
Achieva 3.0 T magnetic resonance by Philips
It is used to do functional resonance studies such as bold, tractographies, multivoxed spectroscopies and perfusion. The speed of reconstruction is 350 images per second.
Digital X-rays
The digital x-ray system, available in each one of the nurse centrals in the hospitalization areas, allows storing x-ray images in an electronic file coming from equipment such as the CAT scanner and the MRI scanner and see it at any station that is part of the network, this is a unique concept in northern Mexico.
The Radiology and Imaging department stays in the cutting edge in order to always provide diagnoses and treatments that are more accurate with the best technology, attention and service.
